This is an exciting time to join Northumberland as we consolidate our improvement and transformation programme by regrading our safeguarding social work force . We have created new deputy team manager posts in safeguarding and our front of house services, which are exciting opportunities for those wanting progress their careers.
We are looking for aspiring experienced social workers/ senior practitioners or candidates with some management experience who are looking to move into a management position. Those appointed will be committed professionals, determined to support social workers to deliver an excellent service to children and young people.

Deputy team managers will be instrumental as practice Leaders in continuing to drive this forward and will be given support to fulfil this role to a high standard.
ABOUT YOU
You will be a child focussed individual who is committed to delivering the best outcomes for families
You will have extensive experience of working in a statutory child protection team and be confident and competent in assessing and planning to safeguard and protect children.
You will always want to hear the child’s voice and ensure that this is taken into account.
You will know how to measure and monitor practice and performance, to ensure individuals and the service as a whole operates to a consistently good standard.
You will have an extensive knowledge base in social work practice, displaying positive role modelling , continually developing and supervising social work staff.
You will have a sound knowledge base of the Knowledge and Skills Statement for Child and Family Social work which will be embedded within all elements of practice.
You will have experience of providing reflective supervision.
You will be passionate about social work and motivated to be part of Northumberland’s improvement journey.

You should hold a relevant Social Work qualification such as the Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or CSS and be registered with the HCPC. You should also have a minimum of three years post qualifying experience.
