An opportunity has arisen to appoint a temporary Debt Recovery Officer within Housing Operations at North Tyneside Council.

This challenging and performance driven role plays an important part in maximising income and maintaining the Housing Revenue Account.

Working in the Debt Recovery and direct debit team your duties will include working with tenants and former tenants to maximise the income collection of rechargeable repairs, former tenant rent arrears and other sundry debts relating to council tenancies.

The successful applicant will be proactive and highly motivated with experience of working in a target driven collections environment. You will need experience of delivering excellent customer service, with strong communication skills, good negotiation skills and a proven track record of meeting targets. In addition to this you will have a can do attitude and be an excellent problem solver, whilst offering a balance between enforcement and support in all areas of the recovery process.

The post is full time, fixed term until the 31/03/2019.
