An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Court Officer to the Neighbour Housing Team in North Tyneside Council. This challenging role plays an important part in collecting rent income from tenants, applying, preparing and presenting cases at court.
You will manage a number of rent accounts for council tenancies. You will be responsible for rent arrears collection and you will be required to give advice on debt management and to offer assistance to those experiencing problems with paying rent and service charges. You will also be required to give the best possible advice in relation to welfare benefits and signpost tenants for financial advice and support.
You will have experience of delivering an excellent customer service, with strong communication skills and negotiation skills and a proven track record of meeting targets. In addition to this you will have a can do attitude and be an excellent problem solver, whilst offering a balance between enforcement and support in all areas of rent management.
The post is a 1 year fixed term maternity cover.
