Further Information
We are looking for a qualified lawyer with experience in commercial property transactions including landlord and tenant, and sales and acquisitions, with the ability to draft, negotiate and advise on property matters and transactions relating to the councils’ property portfolios. Experience in development agreements, options, conditional contracts and educational matters, including academy conversions is also desirable.

You will have the necessary skills and experience in giving written and oral advice to officers, members of the Senior Leadership Team and Elected Members; this will include attendance at Authority property boards to update the relevant officers and Members on specific, often high profile property transactions.

You will have an excellent knowledge and understanding of current property law.

You will be part of a busy legal team and at times may be required to undertake work in other areas covered by the team, including planning, highways and licensing. Experience in those fields is desirable but not essential and support and training will be provided as necessary.

The successful candidate will provide effective support to colleagues and work across a range of legal matters within the broader legal team and will be willing and able to undertake court and/or committee advocacy/representation where necessary
