Further Information
North Tyneside Council is one of the safest metropolitan boroughs in the UK. We have a clear commitment set out in our North Tyneside Plan to maintain this status and continue to make our residents, businesses and visitors feel safe in their local environment.

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Emergency Planning Officer to join our Resilience, Security Services and Community Safety Team as the Emergency Planning and Response Officer.

The ideal candidate should have:
• significant emergency planning experience
• a proven ability to design and deliver a variety of training activities and
emergency planning exercises
• experience of working within a multi-agency environment

This is a uniquely diverse role in a dynamic environment with work cutting across all three disciplines of the wider team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and emergency plans as well as help to continuously improve our preparedness and response arrangements for the future resilience of our Borough.

North Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

In addition, staff and volunteers are expected to familiarise themselves with all relevant policies, procedures and guidance in relation to safeguarding children and safe practice with vulnerable adults. Within North Tyneside, safeguarding is everybody’s business.
