About the Procurement Shared Service
Providing strategic procurement for Northumberland County Council & Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust; the Procurement Shared Service is a groundbreaking collaboration between Local Authority and NHS. The service, now into its fourth year, provides a sustainable and cost effective procurement service, which helps drive economic benefits and service quality for its stakeholder organisations.
About the Role
Reporting into the Senior Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of a defined number of procurement projects across the two stakeholder organisations and supporting the activities of the Senior Procurement Specialists.
As the role crosses both local authority and NHS, expertise in a specific area is desirable but not essential. However, the successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to draw on a well-developed set of procurement skills and commercial business acumen, developed from previous experience working in the public sector.
Those joining the Shared Procurement Service will have a unique opportunity to make a real contribution to shape the direction of this new service. Successful applicants will be proactive and enjoy being challenged by new areas and activities; they will also possess excellent communication and team working skills.
For an informal discussion about the role or to apply, please contact Jack Barnes at Castlefield Recruitment on 0161 638 8746, 07584 558826 or
jack.barnes@castlefieldrecruitment.com
Previous applicants need not apply.
Closing Date: 5pm on Friday 25th January 2019
