The Governors of Durham Johnston invite applications for the post of Headteacher to start in September 2019.

Durham Johnston is an outstanding, oversubscribed comprehensive school in Durham City, committed to academic excellence and social justice. The school has 1636 young people on roll, with 348 in the sixth form. We value high quality subject teaching in this happy community of students from the widest of backgrounds.

We are seeking to appoint a Headteacher who will provide vision and leadership, inspiring staff and students in this high quality, fully inclusive school. Taking the school forward, they will continue to improve and sustain high expectations, aspirations and achievements for all our learners.

Applicants will need to provide leadership of a high quality in the academic, pastoral and management fields and be able to show evidence of the successful implementation of change.
