First Class Supply are working with special schools in the Gateshead area. We are working to secure a pool of experienced teaching assistants to work with SEND pupils, specifically those with Social and Emotional Behavioural Difficulties. You will need the confidence to work with Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils who are likely to have behavioural difficulties and barriers to learning. Whilst experience of working in a similar environment isn’t essential, you must have the ability to build a rapport quickly with pupils, and to understand their differing needs and abilities. You will be required to teach a variety of subjects to pupils on a 1-1 or small group basis.

Roles are available for a range of full and part time hours, meaning we are able to provide you with a position that suits your lifestyle. This is also an excellent opportunity if you are seeking permanent employment as introductions to new settings often leads to future positions.

To apply for a position you must:
  • be able to demonstrate a positive impact on pupil development
  • be able to demonstrate resilience
  • be understanding of the individual needs of pupils which may have contributed to them moving to the provision
  • a valid Team Teach certificate
  • hold a Level 3 teaching assistant qualification
  • have 6 months experience working within the UK National Curriculum.
