2 x Assistant Headteachers
The Governors are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic, experienced and well-motivated Assistant Headteachers, to join a very effective senior leadership team. The responsibilities of these posts will either be Behaviour for Learning or SENDCO and Inclusion, depending upon the experience and interests of the successful candidate.
Desirable:
• a successful track record of leadership and management with experience of working in the fields of Behaviour, Attendance and Rewards or Safeguarding, Child Protection and Special Educational Needs
• excellent communication skills, the ability to lead and motivate teams of staff, and the strategic skills necessary to contribute effectively to our programme of whole school improvement.
The successful candidates will help us provide a supportive, stimulating environment, share our high expectations of achievement for all students and be a champion for education as a vehicle to improve the life chances of the young people in our community.
Wellfield is a highly successful comprehensive school for pupils aged 11-16 and achieved its second Ofsted ‘Good’ judgement in June 2018.
An £8.5million refurbishment was completed in the summer of 2014, resulting in an excellent learning environment offering state of the art facilities. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
