Please note, a new National Pay Spine and Pay Award is to be introduced on 1 April 2019. The salary range for this post will increase in line with these changes from 1 April 2019 to £22,911 - £26,317 per annum (pro rata).

Bilingual Arabic/English Education Officer - all Key Stages
0.5fte term time only, 37 hours pro rata, Grade 7

We wish to appoint a part-time, Bilingual Education Officer (Arabic & English) for the EAL team to provide support to pupils speaking Arabic as their first language and who are learning English as an additional language (EAL) in school.

The EAL team promotes inclusion and equality of opportunity. This post is an excellent opportunity to join a small, highly functioning team to focus on supporting Arabic-speaking pupils who are learning EAL. You will deliver intervention support and collaborate with teaching staff in schools to ensure those Arabic-speaking pupils at risk of underachievement are supported and monitored. You will work across all key stages, assisting schools with home/ school liaison with pupils and families. Home school liaison and home visits are integral to the post.

This peripatetic post involves working in any school across the county, moving between schools during the day. Independent travel is a requirement to fulfil the duties of the post. Within the work, there is a strong focus on safeguarding and reducing inequalities.
