Qualified Teacher of Children with Multi Sensory Impairment

Salary: £23,720 - £39,406 MPS – UPS + SEN 1-2 (subject to qualifications)

Job Location: Belmont C of E Primary School, however, you will be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated teacher to work within the sensory team in Durham, supporting learners with vision or multi- sensory impairment. This is a peripatetic post supporting CYP in mainstream and special schools, as well as working with children with complex needs and their families at home. The post holder will work across all age ranges, and will provide advice and guidance to support a positive whole school approach towards the inclusion of children with VI or MSI.

It is essential for the role that:

You have a mandatory qualification in MSI or VI and/or be willing to complete the mandatory qualification for teaching CPY with multi-sensory impairment.

You have experience of working in both mainstream and special school settings; ideally across both primary and secondary age ranges; and with children with additional and complex needs.

You have some knowledge of the benefits of technology to support access to the curriculum for children with sensory impairment, and an eagerness to continue to develop your own skills and knowledge as this field continues to advance.
