To help us achieve our ambitions as a council, we have created a new role to focus on key objectives. Our Corporate Director of Regeneration, Economy and Growth will be largely externally-facing, helping to deliver economic development, regeneration, and culture, sport and tourism across the county.
We have huge growth potential in Durham, with £3.4 billion of investment in town and city centres, significant expansion by Durham University, major business parks, the north east’s only science and technology park together with 24,000 new houses by 2033. We are therefore seeking candidates who are adept at building relationships, able to work successfully with regional and national partners across government and the private sector, and with the skills and determination to deliver tangible outcomes benefitting all our communities.
This role will also be part of our Corporate Management Team, steering the overall direction of the council.
