Hours are 6.00am – 10.00am and 2.30pm – 6pm (5.30pm on a Friday)

Due to the retirement of the current post holder the Headteacher and Governors wish to appoint an efficient and reliable caretaker. The successful candidate must be able to work alone, but also as part of a team. The main job purpose is to provide high standards of cleanliness, security and maintenance of the school premises. The role includes handyperson activities and some supervision of cleaning staff.

The successful candidate will show:

• A hard working ‘can do’ approach;
• Positive attitude towards all tasks within the job role;
• High standards within their cleaning role along with practical handyperson skills;
• Good communication skills;
• A sense of humour and willingness to work as part of a small team

Please note that this position is whole time, which means that you will be in attendance at work all year round (52 weeks a year) and will have an annual leave entitlement (26 days if you have less than 5 years continuous local government service, 31 days if you have in excess of 5 years continuous local government service; pro rata for part time).

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
