Salary: £41,675 - £45,591

Job Location: Any approved location, however you may be required to work at any DCC council office.

An exciting opportunity has emerged to join Durham County Council’s Fostering Service as a Team Manager on a permanent and full-time basis. The Fostering Service is responsible for the recruitment, training and support of foster carers across the county, both mainstream foster carers and family and friends foster carers. The service has been through service wide restructure to maximise the quality of service to Children, Young People and their carers and ensure that good outcomes for children are at the centre of all of our practice.

The role of the Team Manager is to line manage a team, supervising the practice and decision-making of Social Workers and to supporting social workers to develop their skills. To create an environment which enables excellent practice by setting high standards and motivating others to do the same. The Team Manager will motivate and support Social Workers to be ambitious on behalf of children and families. They will facilitate constant reflective thinking about the welfare of families and the safety of children.

Required qualifications: Degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification, e.g. Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work (PDDipSW) Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW), Diploma in Social Work (DipSW), Certificate in Social Services (CSS) AND Current Social Work England Registration.
