1 x 25 hours 4 days - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on Study Programme and Friday on Traineeship programme

3 x 20 hours 3 days - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday


Job Location: Your normal base will be at the Civic Centre, Crook. However, you may be required to work at any council workplace and a range of other venues within County Durham.

We are looking to recruit 4 Learning Delivery Assistants to join our team.

Under the direction of the allocated Programme Lead, the post holders will be required to assist the lecturers to address the needs of the learners who require particular help to overcome barriers to learning. The post holders will help to contribute towards the delivery of a high-quality learning and skills experience; contribute to the preparation of the learning environment; handling and set up of equipment and learning resources to aid the delivery.

Ideally applicants will have experience of working on study programmes embedding life and work based curriculum activities inside and outside the classroom with young people who need extra support, or require an advanced programme of learning, in order to reach their full educational potential.

Preferably someone in working with individuals who have physical disabilities, sensory impairments (i.e. hearing or visual), speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions such as autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, or have a combination of these difficulties. Also, someone with the relevant SEND experience of implementing employability into the curriculum and liaising with other professionals, such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists.

Required qualifications: Teaching and Learning at Level 3 or equivalent qualifications in teaching, and GCSE Grade A to C in English and maths or equivalent qualifications.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience of supporting learners with maths, English, ESOL and SEND.
