Post Title: Residential Worker - various posts available
Salary: Grade 7, £22,911 - £26,317 pro rata per annum

Durham County Council Children’s Residential Services are now recruiting for Residential Workers to join their established and experienced workforce. We are looking for candidates to join our team on permanent, temporary and casual contracts.

The successful candidates will have experience of working with children and young people either in a professional or voluntary capacity.

Residential Workers must be able to quickly form and maintain professional relationships with young people and work as part of a team to provide high quality care for them. Ideally they will have a range of hobbies, interests and skills which they can bring to their role. They must be prepared to undertake all duties which may include cooking, domestic duties, administration and engaging young people.

The role will involve working evenings and weekends and may include sleep in duties.

We need individuals who can confidently share information with colleagues and other professionals, and who are great problem solvers. The successful candidate will understand the importance of this role and be really enthusiastic about making a difference in a young person’s life.

Required qualifications: GCSE Grade A – C in Maths and English or a qualification that is equivalent or higher and to already have, or to complete a qualification at Level 3 in Social Care within 18 months of appointment.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place between Tuesday 25th August and Friday 28th August.
