An experienced manager is needed to provide leadership for the technical function at the County’s three performance venues - Gala Theatre & Cinema, Empire Theatre Consett, and Bishop Auckland Town Hall, including the technical delivery of the venue’s programmes.

You will also advise on wider technical requirements, playing a key senior role and assisting with strategic planning, theatre operational issues, and health and safety. Managing the department’s staff and financial resource, you will also support the Festivals programme and additional DCC events as required, and manage Gala’s own theatre productions.

Required Qualifications: Qualified to NVQ Level 5 or equivalent in a relevant technical qualification and substantial experience in a theatre technical department; together with significant departmental management experience. Plus proven experience of leading the technical department of a professional mid-scale venue.

Due to the requirement to drive a County Council vehicle in this role, appointment will be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category of vehicle and the satisfactory completion of an in-house Driver Induction Assessment.
