Please note that this position is whole time, which means that you will be in attendance at work all year round (52 weeks a year) and will have an annual leave entitlement (26 days if you have less than 5 years continuous local government service, 31 days if you have in excess of 5 years continuous local government service; pro rata for part time).

Leadgate Primary School are seeking to appoint a new school caretaker to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and safety on the lower school site.

General:
To be supportive of the school’s aims
To adhere to health and safety procedures, placing the safety of children as first priority
To work closely with the job share colleague, with good communication and mutual co-operation
To be flexible and adaptable
To work professionally as part of a whole school team
To maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality
To take part in any training designed to assist in developing skills and knowledge required for the role
To establish and maintain good relationships with staff, pupils, parents and visitors

Main objectives of the post:
To ensure the security of the building including key holder status and to provide access to staff, local authority officers and contractors as required
To ensure that the school is regularly and thoroughly cleaned to a good standard
To work collaboratively with the caretaker of the Upper School site to ensure high standards are maintained across both sites.
To support additional cleaning staff
To manage contractors on site
To ensure a high standard of health and safety in the building and on site day to day
To ensure the Head teacher and senior management team is fully informed in respect of all matters of health and safety, security and heating, lighting and other equipment

Hours
32 hours a week consisting of two daily shifts:
6.30am – 9.30am and 2.30pm – 5.30pm, Monday to Wednesday,
6.30am – 9.30am and 2.30pm – 6.30pm, Thursday and Friday.
