We are looking for a calm, dedicated and cheerful person to fulfil the role of lunchtime supervisor in our small rural school. Our children are caring, well behaved and enthusiastic.

The applicant will be expected to follow the school’s policies including those on behaviour management and child protection guidance and procedures. The school operates a strict no smoking policy.

You will be expected to:
• Maintain a safe, calm and pleasant environment during the lunchtime period, including cleaning any spillages.
• Teach children table manners.
• Supervise pupil playtimes, both in the playground and in classrooms during wet weather.
• Promote children’s play by organising and playing games with them.
• Attend minor injuries.
• Keep appropriate records.
• Work as part of a small team, attending training as necessary.

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
