This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in regulatory support and enforcement to contribute to the Council's ongoing response to COVID-19. We are looking to build a COVID-19 compliance team who can make a real impact to support local businesses through education, support and proportionate regulation.
You will principally visit relevant business premises across County Durham to ensure Covid-19 compliance, including the investigation of related complaints. Accordingly, you will provide advice and support to businesses on how to operate in a Covid secure way in accordance with legislation, Government and sector guidance.
We are looking for someone who understands how to positively achieve lasting compliance. An attention to detail, coupled with a high quality customer focus, is vital in this regard and so you will be an excellent communicator capable of promoting and supporting good practice, yet able to deliver firm regulation when this is needed. Accordingly, you will have contact with a range of businesses, partner agencies, professionals and the public.

We would consider flexible working and part time working.
Candidates should be educated to degree level and/or substantial relevant experience in a related enforcement field together with experience in the enforcement of legislation, rules or regulations etc.
