Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic teachers to work within our Science department. We are seeking to appoint an ambitious person who combines excellent teaching skills, an enthusiasm for the subject and an ability to inspire and motivate pupils. If you have the potential to become an outstanding teacher and the desire to inspire a love for your subject then we would like to hear from you. This post would be ideal for an NQT or recently qualified teacher. Subject specialism of Physics is preferable but not essential.

Wellfield was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in June 2018.

An £8.5million refurbishment was completed in the summer of 2014, resulting in an excellent learning environment offering state of the art facilities. There is also a floodlit, FA standard, 3G multi purpose sports facility on site which will support both the development of school and community sport. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We benefit from a Beacon Nursery in the village.
