Post title: Senior Residential Worker – full time - permanent

Salary: £25,911 - £29,577 Grade 8

Job Location: an agreed Children’s Home, however you may be required to work at any DCC council office.

We are looking for an excellent child centred practitioner who would like to join a well-established Children’s Home team as a Senior Residential Worker. We are looking to fill 1 post on a full-time permanent basis. The role will involve working a range of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and sleep in duties.

The team work with three young people who live in the home. As a Senior Residential Worker you will work closely with the Children’s Homes Manager, and deputise in their absence. You will support the Homes Manager in monitoring and fulfilling the Leadership and Management Standard, Health and Safety and Buildings Compliance. In addition to auditing child files and key documentation as well as producing key written reports and documents.

You will assist in the management, development, and delivery of care and support to the young people living in the home. You will provide operational leadership to the residential workers while on shift, ensuring the team are well supported and trained so that they can deliver continuity of care.

To apply you should be 22 years old or above, an experienced Residential Worker and be:

• Able to lead by example, influence and motivate others
• Able to effectively engage with young people, team members and other professionals
• Emotionally resilient
• Reliable
• Flexible in your approach to work
• Knowledgeable about the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
• Committed to the continuous professional development of yourself and others
• Physically fit

It will also be beneficial for candidates to have:

• Knowledge, skills or experience working with young people who have experienced trauma
• Confidence using IT systems to record
