Post: Service Manager - Families First South

There is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team in Durham’s Children’s Social Care Service following the creation of this new post.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated social work professional who is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable leader, to join the team and drive forward our vision. We are currently embedding the Signs of Safety social work practice model across the whole service and are committed to practice which is strengths based and focused on developing high quality relationships with children and families.

We are looking to recruit a Service Manager with responsibility for our Families First Service in the South of the county including First Contact and MASH. Responsibilities include leadership and management of several social work teams who work with children and families in need of help and protection. Teams are responsible for many aspects of social work practice with children and families including assessment and planning; working with children within the child protection process and those subject to care proceedings. The role includes responsibility for a range of service wide cross cutting themes which include assisting with the ongoing strategic development of the MASH and First Contact from a strong base, supporting and improving partnership working and thresholds, and driving forward improvement activity to ensure that all children receive an excellent service.
