An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Workforce Development Officer (Systems/Digital Learning) to assist with the development and organisation of Workforce Development (WFD) Programmes for the council’s Care Academy that was established to support local adult social care providers (www.durham.gov.uk/careacademy); this will be, specifically in relation to the councils learning management system (Durham Learning and Development System) and the approach to digital/virtual learning.

This post is temporary for one year from start date of appointment.

Key elements of this role will be to assist in the following activity for local adult social care providers as part of the Care Academy offer:

• designing, developing and implementing processes within the Durham Learning and Development system to ensure that quality learning and development provision is being delivered ;
• maximising the use of technology to improve processes, systems and learning opportunities;
• developing learning activities and content aimed at delivering greater understanding and enhancing engagement of learners;
• and providing technical and administrative support for administrators and users of the system.

You should be qualified to level 3 in a relevant subject/other equivalent level qualification, have previous experience of working with technology to support learning and development, knowledge and understanding of on-line learning methodologies together with excellent ICT skills including Excel, communication and organisational skills.
