We are looking for child centred people who would like to join our Children’s Homes team as Casual Residential Workers. The role will involve working a range of shifts including weekdays, evenings and weekends and sleep in duties.

You will be required to care for and co-ordinate the activities of young people who live in our children’s homes (and other provisions) on a day to day basis, so that the best possible outcomes for them are achieved.

You will offer support to other associated provisions for young people in Care and on ‘the edge of care’.

You will work as part of a dedicated staff team to ensure our children and young people are provided with the best care possible.

You will be involved in all aspects of the lives of children and young people who live in the home as any parent would. For example, transporting them to school, college or appointments, making their home a clean, warm and cosy environment, cooking meals and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies.

Our children and young people have often experienced trauma. We need you to offer them understanding through meaningful relationships aimed at keeping them safe and able to enjoy the world around them. We need you to listen to them and to take in to account their views, wishes and feelings.

The role can be challenging and requires dedication and resolve however, the personal rewards are immense.

To apply you should be 22 years old or above, have experience of working with children and young people and be:

Required qualifications:
• GCSE Grade A – C in Maths and English or a qualification that is equivalent or higher.
• To already have, or to complete a qualification at Level 3 in Social Care within 18 months of appointment.
