Aycliffe Secure Children’s Centre is the largest of its kind nationally. The young people we teach have a range of complex social, emotional, and mental health needs, often alongside significant trauma. Our aim is to give each young person the very best education possible so that they are able to fulfil their potential and have a brighter future.

We are looking for an 2 Instructors 1 to teach Horticulture and 1 to teach Health and Social Care.

You should have a proven track record of achieving outcomes with challenging learners and a commitment to ensuring that every child succeeds. You will need excellent communication and behaviour management skills, very high levels of resilience, and a flexible range of skills that can be applied not only to your own curriculum area, but when supporting colleagues.

An understanding of risk management and a willingness to manage this and adapt activities and resources accordingly is vitally important.

The requirement to support other curriculum areas is an essential part of the job role and forms a significant part of everyone’s timetable.
