Job Location: Your normal place of work will be Nettlesworth, but you may be required to work at any Council workplace within County Durham.

Children’s Social Care in Durham are looking for social workers with a minimum of 1 years' experience who are enthusiastic and passionate about working with vulnerable teenagers to join our exciting new dedicated ASET Team (Adolescent Safeguarding and Exploitation Team).

The team will work primarily with young people aged 14 to 18 who present with multiple and complex issues including:

• Child exploitation
• Mental health
• Radicalisation

You will work closely with the Durham Multi-agency Child Exploitation Team in Partnership with Durham Police, and the Rapid Response Team in partnership with CAMHS and Rollercoaster.

To apply you should be a qualified Social Worker who loves to work with adolescents. You should be able to communicate well with young people, forming positive and effective working relationships, and be able to network, negotiate and advocate on behalf of young people to achieve positive outcomes.

Your team manager will provide you with regular supervision, including reflective case supervision, and support you with the most important decisions. You will have a reduced caseload and the opportunity for direct work and creativity.

Successful applicants will benefit from a comprehensive specialist training programme.

Your normal place of work will be Nettlesworth, but you may be required to work at any Council workplace within County Durham.
