Post title: Social Work Consultant – full time - permanent

Salary: £39,880 - £43,857 Grade 13

Job Location: an approved team location, however you may be required to work at any DCC council office.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Social Work Consultant to join the MASH and First Contact Team at Durham County Council.

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker in Childrens services to undertake a role of Quality Assurance, MASH co-ordinator, to carry out the supervision of others, be a decision maker and work as part of a multi-agency team as well as other Children Services Teams. You will need a Social Work Qualification and be registered with HCPC.

The Social Work Consultant plays a key role in developing and monitoring the competency of front line social care practitioners by developing, maintaining and championing expertise in specific areas of work with children and families; by driving excellent practice based on research, evidence and professional experience.

You will provide constructive challenge to enhance practice, and contribute to the development of knowledge and promotion of excellence within the team making use of critical reasoning as well as modelling and facilitating reflective and evidence based decision making.

This is a none case holding role.

Required qualifications:
Degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification, e.g. Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work (PDDipSW) Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW), Diploma in Social Work (DipSW), Certificate in Social Services (CSS)
AND
Current SW England Registration
