Ours governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and professional supervisory assistant to ensure the care and well-being of pupils during the lunch time period.

Duties include:
• the care and supervision of pupils during the lunch break, across the school, as required
• attending to children during lunchtimes, encouraging good behaviour and table manners
• clear up all spillages promptly
• assist in the wiping of tables and chairs where necessary at the end of the meal
• supervision of children in designated outside areas
• monitor the use of playground equipment and its safekeeping
• initiate games and activities where appropriate, whilst maintaining broad supervision
• provide simple First Aid where appropriate in accordance with the school’s Health and Safety Policy
• ensure good conduct in toilets, corridors and cloakrooms by frequent checks each session
• challenge and deal with inappropriate behaviour in accordance with the school’s Positive Relationships Policy, seeking assistance from teaching staff in exceptional circumstances
• supervise children in classrooms during inclement weather

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
