A vacancy has arisen within the Deputy and Appointee Team (DAT) for an 18 months temporary post of Team Leader.

The successful post holder will support the Assistant Assessment and Awards Manager(Discretionary Benefits) in managing the Deputy and Appointee Team(DAT) and will work alongside the current management team in managing the Deputy and Appointee Team and Deputy and Appointee Review Team(DART), supervising and supporting DAT staff, and continue to develop and provide a first class service to the residents of County Durham.

The post holder will work with the Assistant Assessment and Awards Manager (Discretionary Benefits) to deliver a service that meets the Office of Public Guardians(OPG) standards within a framework of the Care Act and forthcoming Social Care reform.

The post holder will also provide advice and support to the County Council, Elected Members customers and other professional and voluntary agencies in relation to the development of the DAT.

Candidates should have NVQ Level 5 or equivalent qualification and experience of multi-agency partnership working, working within the sector, and report writing. They should also have knowledge of the social security system and how its interacts with DAT clients, DCC charging policies, and OPG standards as well as the ability to manage and motivate staff.
