Job Location: County Hall, Durham but you may be required to work at any Council workplace within County Durham.
The delivery of outstanding services to the children, families and communities of County Durham is of paramount importance to us and we know that this takes a dedicated and skilled team of professionals.
We have an ambitious improvement plan to embed the Signs of Safety practice model across Early Help and Children's Social Care so we are looking for an experienced practitioner to join our team and take this service priority forward.
This is a rare opportunity and would suit someone looking for a professional development opportunity to widen their skills and strengthen their knowledge and expertise.
Is this for you?
This is a key role within our service, so we are looking for someone with the energy and determination to deliver results.
It will be suited to someone who has worked within organisations providing services to children and young people and is already operating at an experienced practitioner or team manager level.
Ideally you will be a self-starter with a positive, can-do approach as this position requires someone who has the confidence to develop an idea and bring it to completion.
Collaborative working will be essential so this role will appeal to someone with fantastic interpersonal skills who is able to engage and motivate others to achieve a shared vision.
The ability to formulate solutions and then lead on their implementation will be essential.
Key aspects of the role will be
• Developing and embedding practice initiatives to improve services to children, young people and their families
• Working alongside children, families and partners to ensure consultation activity is effective and outcome driven
• Developing feedback and assurance mechanisms to understand how well practice improvements are being implemented
• Planning how best to approach the improvement work.
Required qualifications
• NVQ Level 5 or equivalent in a relevant discipline
