Children & Young People’s Services in County Durham prides itself on delivering outstanding care to our children and young people. This is an exciting time to join the Children’s Residential Service as we expand our service provision in order to provide the best outcomes for children and young people in County Durham.

The Role
This is a new role within the Children’s Residential Service, you will bring a wealth of experience to support our continued growth and development whilst ensuring our already established service continuously improves.

Our Quality Assurance Manager will work in partnership with the wider system to improve standards of practice across Children’s Residential Services as part of an improvement programme in line with the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards.

You will support the Strategic Manager to ensure the following is achieved:
• Audits are robust and effective
• Projects are undertaken effectively and delivered within timescale
• The development of continuously evolving improvement planning
• Effective partnership working with Homes Managers and stakeholders
You will work directly with the Registered Managers of the Children’s Homes, ensuring they are supported to deliver excellence, and work collaboratively with partners and colleagues.

Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who:
• Has exceptional knowledge and practice experience which directly relates to children’s residential care, the regulatory and inspection framework
• Has experience of quality assurance and service improvement
• Has experience of change management
• Sufficient knowledge and experience to be registered with Ofsted as the Responsible Individual (RI) for the homes you are responsible for
• Has the ability to shape and lead on policy, and to evidence standards within a residential care setting

Your expertise should come with a professional qualification in Leadership and Management at or above Level 5 or an equivalent.
