Post Title: Inclusion Practitioner, Full time, Temporary for 12 Months

Salary: Grade 9, £29,174 - £32,798 per annum

Job Location: Your normal place of work will be one of the One Point Hubs, but you may be required to work at any Council workplace within County Durham. There is a provisional hybrid model of working in place, but employees will need to prioritise business need and be in the workplace as and when necessary with some homeworking to be approved by a manager if appropriate.

We are seeking to appoint two Inclusion Practitioners on a Full time, temporary basis for 12 months.

In County Durham a priority is for all children and young people to attend full time education. At times this can be a struggle for children, their parents/carers and for educational settings where there are identified barriers in them being able to do this regularly, safely and engage positively in their learning.

The newly created Inclusion Practitioner role will work with young people, parents/carers and the Behaviour and Inclusion Panels to remove barriers to educational opportunities and support young people to successfully progress into adulthood.

The role will develop effective links between home and the education provider and be a conduit between school and home to ensure the holistic needs of the young person and family are understood and provide support and challenge to young people and their family to encourage their involvement in the school or alternative provision environment.

The post holders will report to the Behaviour and Inclusion Panel and receive line management support by both the Behaviour and Inclusion Panel Chair and the Senior Early Help Advisor through a matrix management arrangement.
