A vacancy has arisen within Digital Services for a permanent ICT Technicians working full time 37 hours per week.

The successful post holder will install, support, maintain, repair and manage ICT hardware, software and peripheral equipment and provide technical support to customers and ICT staff together with collecting and delivering materials and equipment for our customers as required by the service schedule.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the installation of AV equipment such as Interactive display panels, Projectors, Whiteboards, TVs
• Assisting in the installation and testing of data cabling (CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A)
• Assisting in the installation and testing of fibre optic cabling
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Provide excellent customer service and support
• Basic knowledge of networking equipment including switches, routers and Wi-Fi Access

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Experience of installation of AV equipment, such as panels, projectors, TVs.
• Experience of installation, termination and testing of all types of copper cables (CAT5e/6/6A
• Experience with the installation of containment solutions
• Experience in the setting up, use and interpretation of the results from a Fluke DTX/DSX Cable Analyser or similar test equipment
Essential
• The ability to demonstrate good troubleshooting skills
• Motivated and can work to strict timescales - setting & achieving targets
• An excellent understanding of health and safety practice
• Customer focussed
• Able to work well as part of a team and individually
• Experienced at the safe and correct use of ladders and other access equipment
• Experienced at the correct and safe use of power tools

Additional Information:

Full training to be given where required leading to qualifications where applicable (City & Guilds, NVQ, Vendor specific courses)

Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Computing or related discipline and/or relevant experience and hold a clean driving licence that is appropriate to the vehicle allocated.
