Prince Bishops Community Primary School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and committed person to supervise pupils during the lunch time period to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of working with children of primary school age
- Be flexible
- Able to work well within a team and willing to undertake training

Duties include:
• Supervise and oversee our team of Lunchtime Supervisors
• Set up the hall for children to access at lunch time; tables, refreshments, cutlery, trays, waste etc.
• Checking over first aid equipment, walkie-talkies and any other equipment used by the Lunchtime team
• Supervise children outdoors
• Organise and implementing outside games and activities to encourage enjoyment at lunchtime.
• Set and maintaining high standards of behaviour
• Respond to the different needs and interests of children.
• Organise activities for wet playtimes.
• Working closely with lunchtime colleagues.
• Good communication skills with pupils and other school staff.
• To interact positively and establish good relationships with all children and other staff as necessary.
• To ensure children enjoy lunchtime, healthy eating and a relaxed, engaging environment.
• To promote and support a whole school approach to inclusive play.
• To support all children and school staff as necessary.
• At all times to work within the school’s policies with regard to: Behaviour Management, Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Anti-Bullying, Confidentiality, Risk Management.
• To carry out responsibilities under the direction and guidance of the post’s manager.
• To support and supervise children in the dining room, playground, corridors, toilets or other areas during lunchtime depending on the timetable and rota established.
• To always listen to children’s concerns and respond appropriately.
• To deal with difficult or challenging behaviour by pupils in a calm and professional way.
• To be alert for children who are at risk of bullying or being bullied and intervene in disputes be they physical or verbal as necessary.
• To ensure that all children who suffer any injury or accident are dealt with appropriately and in accordance with the school’s agreed procedures.
• To report any serious concerns regarding children’s welfare or behaviour to the Class Teacher(s) and/or Teaching Assistant(s) as and when they arise, and to inform the Senior Leadership Team as necessary.
• Assisting where necessary in ensuring that all those who are on the premises at lunchtime have authority to be there.

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.
