Job Location: Your normal place of work will be allocated schools, but you may be required to work at any location within County Durham and Darlington

Durham Music Service is looking for new people to join our pool of temporary instrumental teachers and to deliver high quality and exciting music tuition. Durham Music Service is the lead partner in the Music Education Hub for County Durham and Darlington.

Durham Music Service provides lessons across a range of instruments and singing (whole class and small groups) and from Early Years to 6th Form. You can find out more about our work at www.durhammusic.org.uk Applications will be welcomed from all disciplines.

Applicants must have a recognised music performance qualification (Grade 8 or equivalent) on their principal instrument and either a teaching qualification or previous teaching experience. We are keen to invite applications from teachers who wish to be involved in delivering both whole class ‘First Access’ programmes and small group tuition.

The job involves travel across County Durham /Darlington Borough and candidates must be able to meet this provision. The service is committed to safeguarding children. All candidates will need to demonstrate a commitment to the welfare and safety of children and young people. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon receipt of two supportive references and a successful DBS check.
