As a Community Sport and Health apprentice, you will develop skills, knowledge and experience working in Culture, Sport and Tourism.

The structured training programme will enable the apprentice to gain experience, further education and broad base skills within Community Sport and Health.

The apprenticeship role involves developing skills, knowledge, and experience to initiate behaviour change in local residents with regards to engagement in sport and physical activity across local communities.

The apprenticeship will be based at a designated locality venue in your priority area. However, you may be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham.

You will be studying towards the Community Sport and Health Officer Level 3 standard via ActivFirst.

You must have or expect to achieve a 4 GCSE’s at Grades A*-C/9-4 or hold an equivalent and relevant qualification including English.

You must be able to work with customers face to face from a range of backgrounds, follow instructions and be able to work in a team.
