The governors of Newcastle Nursery Schools’ Federation wish to appoint a dynamic class teacher to join our Nursery Schools’ Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a teaching post based at Ashfield Nursery School, initially with the opportunity to work in and with other schools in our Federation, over time.

Our Federation of Nursery Schools supports children from the age of 2 to 5 years across three schools in Newcastle upon Tyne. Within the Federation, Ashfield Nursery is an outstanding and dynamic school that supports children and families from the local area of Elswick, many of whom speak English as an additional language.

Our Nursery provides a safe, exciting, well-planned and stimulating environment where children and families learn to their full potential. We aim for our children and families to develop the confidence to succeed regardless of their background and circumstances. We are the firm foundations building a string and successful future for each individual and the community.

Our ideal candidate will:
- be child-centred and determined to make a positive difference in the lives of those they teach
- share our passion for an early years’ curriculum that gives children exciting daily experiences for learning matched to their needs and interests
- embrace every opportunity for learning outdoors as well as inside
- create enabling environments and very strong relationships that stimulate children’s learning through first hand experiences
- employ effective classroom management skills to guide and support our children’s learning and behaviour
- be able and willing to contribute to and work as part of a reflective and supportive team
- demonstrate empathy and patience, be resourceful, energetic and enthusiastic and have a good sense of humour

This is a great opportunity to have a real and lasting impact in our Federation, Nursery School and Community.

Newcastle Nursery Schools Federation is strongly committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and families. The successful applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the DBS and satisfy a range of pre-employment checks.

Please note that in all cases, we will take up written references and share them with interviewers BEFORE the final selection stage, even if you indicate otherwise. Please also note that if you do not hear from us within a few days of the closing date then your application has been unsuccessful.

Visits to Ashfield Nursery School are warmly welcomed and can be arranged by contacting the school on 0191 2735587
