Further Information
Do you want to work in a fast-paced environment helping to improve the way we use technology to create a dynamic and more inclusive economy across Newcastle, Northumberland, and North Tyneside?
Are you a proactive and dynamic self-starter who thrives on solving problems by generating ideas and ‘getting stuff done’?

Then this might just be the perfect job for you.

The North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) is a ground-breaking organisation, allowing the transfer of new powers and money from the Government to our area. We are making an ambitious contribution to the lives of local people, with a clear priority to help the communities we serve to fulfil their true potential. https://www.northoftyne-ca.gov.uk/news/our-corporate-plan/

Devolution has given us the chance to make decisions about our future, so we are targeting investment where we know we need it most, ensuring economic growth is supported by people with the right skills, education and confidence to benefit from every opportunity.

To help us achieve our mission, and to continually be smarter, quicker and more efficient in how we respond to the needs of our residents and businesses, we are embarking on a programme of digital transformation. The Programme Officer role will help us deliver our digital transformation programme, working across different teams to design, test and implement software and applications which solve business problems, such as automating workflows, connecting data sources or increasing accessibility to key documents.

You’ll have a keen eye for detail, be comfortable navigating digital platforms, keep up with the latest technological trends, and be willing to continue to learn as teams and the organisation evolve.
You’ll be comfortable working with as part of a team and on your own, coordinating activities throughout the full project lifecycle and managing your workload against competing priorities. Experience of using Microsoft Power Platforms within a business setting would be great!

At NTCA, we don’t just accept difference, we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our team, our mission, and our residents. We are proud to embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way, and we are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.

If you’re looking for a flexible approach to work, we follow a hybrid model, so we would be happy to discuss this with you. However, if you are looking to relocate here, then that’s great too. By coming to work in the North of Tyne, you can enjoy a fulfilling job as well as a great quality of life, with some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside and beaches on your door-step. Our flexible approach allows employees to have a great work-life-balance, with your wellbeing at its heart.

We believe in rewarding people for their productivity, so everyone at NTCA gets automatic enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme, a range of salary sacrifice options, a more open leave policy (in addition to your entitled leave of a minimum of 25 days plus bank holidays) and a range of support for your wellbeing and work-life balance.

If you would like to be part of a team that is critical to the future of the region and you can help us deliver our ambitious vision, then we really want to hear from you.
