Part-time 18.5hrs Administrative Officer, Permanent

VACANCY NO: RES/23/33

Business Services have an exciting opportunity to appoint a permanent 18.5 hour Administrative Officer to support the Occupational Therapy and Sensory Team Manager.

Listed below are some of the responsibilities this role will be primarily responsible for:

• Process mail, answer and deal with telephone/personal enquiries and correspondence on behalf of the Operations Managers.
• Maintain diaries and schedule appointments.
• Manage efficient information storage and retrieval systems, both manual and computerised.
• Research, prepare and supply information as required including statistics, tracking information and producing reports.
• Co-ordinate meetings including arranging venues, sending invitations, organising agendas, taking notes and following up associated action points.
• Provide administrative support to grievance and disciplinary investigations.
• Prepare complex documents using a variety of formats including Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Provide telephone answering and message taking support to the wider team.

The successful candidate will be working alongside our Council’s hybrid model between their home address and another base within County Durham.

The essential qualification requirement is : BTEC National in Public Administration or
NVQ 3 Business Administration or relevant equivalent

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer

It is anticipated that interviews will be held week commencing 13th February, 2023.
