Wellfield achieved its second Ofsted ‘Good’ judgement in June 2018. It is a highly successful comprehensive school, with consistently above national average results. An £8.5million refurbishment was completed in the summer of 2014, resulting in an excellent learning environment offering state of the art facilities. There is also a floodlit, FA standard, 3G multi purpose sports facility on site which will support both the development of school and community sport. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We benefit from a Beacon Nursery in the village.
