A permanent full-time opportunity is available at 37 h.p.w.

You will assist the Contract Support Officer (Building Cleaning and Caretaking) in the day to day operation of the Cleaning Service, providing the key link between management and operational staff.

A flexible approach to work in order to ensure contractual requirements are met is essential.

Your duties will include the following:

responsible for the day to day running of units including staffing levels and be financially accountable for all aspects of the operation

ensure what the methods of work procedures and frequencies are in accordance with the specification and work schedules

maintain a pool of casual staff for periods of sickness, holidays or other absences in accordance with the service needs.

Essential Qualifications
NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant discipline

Evidence of experience in people management/ supervisory role including sickness absence, along with evidence of working in a cleaning environment is essential.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

Due to the requirement to drive a County Council vehicle in this role, appointment will be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category of vehicle and the satisfactory completion of an in-house Driver Induction Assessment.

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
