WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Pathways Hubs are warm and welcoming, providing excellent resources to help improve and maintain health, wellbeing, and happiness in a very person-centred way for people with a learning disability/on the Autistic Spectrum.

We currently have permanent part time and full-time vacancies for Care Support roles within Pathways.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about delivering exceptional care and support to service users and making a real difference to a person’s quality of life.

The roles involve providing support to young people and adults with complex learning disabilities which can be mild, moderate, severe, or profound, in a day service environment.

As a Pathways member of staff, you will work with a strong and dedicated team to enable the implementation of various areas of care and support including administering medication, specialist tasks such as peg-feeding and stoma care, personal care and hygiene and eating and drinking.

We have good working relationships with a range of healthcare professionals which help us to deliver physical and sensory therapies often following recommendations by physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language teams. Some of the therapies include hydrotherapy, postural care through equipment, sensory therapy, rebound therapy and cycling. The successful candidate will also be able to take the lead and support service users with a range of meaningful activities such as art/crafts, cookery, storytelling and music etc, to help improve a person’s quality of life.

All staff are supported with regular supervisions, and a full training package.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will have proven care or support experience either in a professional or personal capacity and have the key attributes required such as being naturally caring, patient and understanding, experience in supporting people with complex needs would be advantageous but not essential.

Required Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Care or willingness to achieve the qualification within a set timescale

The successful applicants for these posts will be supported and funded to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure as this is a requirement for the position.
