Further Information
“Moving to a green, healthy, dynamic and thriving North East” is our region’s vision for transport. For passengers and freight, Transport North East oversees strategic transport planning at a regional level on behalf of the North East Joint Transport Committee, representing the seven local authorities in our region.
Buses are a crucial part of our sustainable transport network and touch millions of lives in our region each year. They are a means for families to enjoy days out, students to independently reach education, workers to find opportunities and a vital link we can all use to sustainably connect with friends and relatives or reach essential services such as health care. Without buses, people and communities would quite literally be left behind, so the Head of Bus Reform role is pivotal to the success of our region and its people.
Working in a highly collaborative style with key partners and stakeholders, you will establish what our region requires of its bus network to deliver the objectives set out in the North East Regional Transport plan and consider different options for delivery in the future.
The project will be run in a disciplined fashion with technical, operational, legal and financial considerations all taken into account. It will involve working with a very diverse range of senior partners, politicians, commercial providers, central and local government and local communities, you’ll establish and deliver a clear programme to take us to implementation of our new model and beyond. You’ll need drive, resilience, patience, clarity, judgement and a clear eye on the outcomes.
Critically, you will be a senior manager at Transport North East, with the right leadership qualities to drive our organisation forward and secure excellent results. Why not join us on the Transport North East journey?
