The Customer Services Team are looking to recruit two full time permanent Customer Services Assistants.

These posts will be required to work at the Contact Centre, Civic Centre, Crook.

The post holders will provide a first point of contact for customers accessing the service through a variety of channels.

We are looking for enthusiastic and customer focussed individuals with a positive attitude and the ability to deal with a range of customer enquiries working with services to ensure their resolution, acting as the customer advocate when appropriate and supporting effective service delivery.

Excellent communicators, the post holder will be required to demonstrate tact and diplomacy. You will be the first point of contact for many customers; therefore, a good understanding of council services will be beneficial. You will also be expected to deal with a complex range of issues sensitively and confidentially handling areas of conflict appropriately.

Candidates should have 4 GCSE's Graded A-C or equivalent.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
