Full Circle are part of Durham’s Countywide Specialist Services and have an excellent record for delivering high quality children’s therapeutic services. The service is for children and young people with complex backgrounds who have had negative childhood experiences and are not doing as well as we would expect, even though they are now safe from harm. The Team consists of therapeutic social workers, a clinical nurse specialist and a consultant clinical psychologist who work together with other professionals as part of a child’s care team.

In addition, the Team also provide a range of attachment and trauma-based training to a wide range of professionals and those who use our service. We work into a number of other teams within children’s services and also provide post-adoption support.

This is a fantastic time to join Full Circle who have recently received excellent feedback from Ofsted who have recognised how valuable Full Circle Support is, "The therapeutic service provided by Full Circle is invaluable. Using evidence based research, the service is making a real difference to children who have been traumatised by adverse childhood experiences, as well as supporting their carers." (September 2019). At their more recent inspection, Ofsted said of children, young people and families, "They receive tailored and highly effective support with their emotional needs from the specialist therapeutic Full Circle team. Foster carers and adopters are well supported by social workers and Full Circle in the transition and continuing care of children placed with them." (May 2022)
