The Ouseburn is in the backyard of thousands of residents and is hugely important for people and wildlife in the city. Newcastle City Council, North Tyneside Council, the Environment Agency, Northumbrian Water and the Reece Foundation have formed an ambitious partnership with a mission to improve access to and the environmental quality of the Ouseburn corridor. You can find the Reece Foundation’s project vision and launch video here: Reece Foundation on Vimeo.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead on and administer the development of an investment programme and accompanying funding strategy. This will build on a significant initial funding commitment from the Reece Foundation. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in partnership to develop and deliver positive change. You will have good project management skills and will ideally have experience of dealing with planning, walking and cycling, landscaping, ecology and water resources. You will work within Newcastle City Council and report directly to the Ouseburn Way Project Board.

As one of the region’s largest employers, our staff are key to delivering successful outcomes for our customers and citizens. In return for your commitment, we can offer an excellent range of benefits to staff including work life balance options, pension scheme, special staff rates at council leisure facilities, staff travel schemes, a generous annual leave entitlement, learning and development opportunities and child care vouchers.
