Further Information
The North East Collaborative Outreach Programme (NECOP) is a Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) funded project which aims to increase the number of young people from low participation neighbourhoods entering higher education by 2020. NECOP will seek to achieve this by focussing activity in areas where HEFCE’s analysis has shown participation in HE to be particularly low overall, and lower than would be expected given Key Stage 4 attainment levels in those areas. These areas are referred to as the HEFCE “Cold Spots”.

Newcastle University is leading a consortium of higher education institutions and colleges across the North East region, with New College Durham acting as the lead institution for activity delivered by Further Education and Sixth Form Colleges. In this capacity New College Durham is now seeking to recruit an effective Programme Coordinator.

The successful candidate will have the skills required to monitor a complex project with multiple partners and stakeholders – ideally in a Further or Higher Education context – and proven ability to communicate information to a wide range of audiences. He or she will also have experience of working with external funders or other stakeholders to secure and account for the use of grant funding. The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working in the FE sector, contract management and reporting.

The post holder will be employed by New College Durham but seconded to the Association of Colleges (AoC), North East.
