Job Summary
Newcastle City Council Adoption and Fostering services are looking for experienced assessment social workers to be engaged on a self-employed basis, to complete form F and/or PAR assessments for our adoption and fostering services

Assessors must have relevant experience and be a qualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW or BA in Social Work) and have a current HCPC registration.

Responsibilities and Duties

Your task is safeguarding the outcomes for looked after children by carrying out assessments of prospective fostering and/or adoptive families with whom children and young people will be placed. You should be able to produce high quality assessments which meet regulations and timescales and have the confidence to present the assessment to the Agency’s adoption and fostering panels. A sound knowledge of child care legislation with a focus on adoption/fostering and safeguarding children, and extensive current knowledge of Ofsted, National Minimum Standards and Regulations are essential requirements. You will also have to agree to and satisfy an enhanced disclosure under the Disclosure and Barring Service procedures.

You will be working with Newcastle City Council on a self-employed basis with work offered as and when required (payment being on a sessional basis per assessment).
