Two Year Apprenticeship

To assist in the provision of an efficient and caring bereavement service by working as part of a team in a highly sensitive service area to provide effective clerical support and relevant advice applicable to the service provision for all aspects of the burial and cremation functions within the County.

To learn and be given training in the required skills and responsibilities over the term of the Apprenticeship to then be able to undertake the full range of duties, an example of which is listed below.

To build up the necessary skills to support the team and service delivery by:

• Working towards Level 2 and/or 3 in Business Administration
• Receiving visitors and referring to appropriate colleagues
• Make and answer telephone calls
• Effective use of electronic communication (i.e. emails and social
media (e.g.Twitter; Facebook)
• Liaise/deal with funeral directors, members of clergy and the public in a
professional manner, over all aspects of the service
• Accurately enter data into computer system and manual registers
accordingly and accurately in accordance with data protection principles
• Observe reverence and respect at all times and ensure all information
received is treated in the strictest confidence

Required Qualifications: Either have or expect to achieve 4 GCSEs at grades A-C including Maths and English, or hold an equivalent relevant qualification
